Sammilito Nagorik Committee-backed mayor candidate Monirul Hoque Sakku won the Comilla City Corporation Election on Thursday,2012.He gets the 65577  vote and his nearest competitor Afjal Khan 36471.Shakku is win  by 29106 vote.Former VP of Comilla Victoria College Nurur Rahman Tanim gets 8514 vote,A.R.Ahmed Salim 7961 and Former Chatraligue Secretary Anisur Rahman Mitho3994 vote.Shakku is former joint secretary Comilla South Jilla B.N.P

Comilla City Corporation election is today.Campaigning finish for Comilla City Corporation elaction candidate on Tuesday evening.For this first today ,the peoples of comilla city will vote with the help of Electronics Voting Machines-EVM to elect a mayor and other local representitives.At the 421 pooling boths of the 65 pooling centres,Vote will start 8am .Comilla is a Small City Corporation for Bangladesh by 169,273 voters.Prime candidates for Comilla City Corporation is Awami League-backed Afzal Khan and backed by Nagorik Committee former municipal mayor Monirul Haque Sakku.Both of them are confident about their victory. A total of 1, 69,273 voters in Comilla City Corporation, including 86,074 females voters.
